Project Overview

In December 2020, New Dawn Energy Solutions successfully completed a 100 kW commercial rooftop solar installation in Toronto. Designed to maximize efficiency on a flat-roofed commercial building, the project features an east-west array configuration to optimize solar energy capture throughout the day.

System Configuration

Panel Layout:
- 49.35 kW on the east-facing section
- 52.2 kW on the west-facing section

Solar Modules:
Canadian Solar panels were selected for their high performance and proven reliability in harsh Canadian climates.
Mounting System:
A hybrid racking solution using KB Racking and Kinetic Solar mounting systems was deployed. Both systems are fabricated from extruded aluminum, offering corrosion resistance and structural durability on a flat roof setup.
Inverter Technology:
The system is powered by four SolarEdge grid-tied inverters, each rated at 20 kW AC, delivering a combined inverter capacity of 80 kW AC. This setup ensures optimal energy harvest and seamless integration with the local utility grid.
