Project Overview
In January 2024, New Dawn Energy Solutions successfully completed a residential solar installation on a sloped roof in Markham. The project featured high-efficiency Canadian Solar panels integrated with a SolarEdge inverter, which included an EV charger to enable seamless charging using solar energy. This setup was designed to offer both energy performance and an aesthetically clean, low-profile appearance that complements the home’s architecture.
Performance & Impact
The system now offsets approximately 44% of the household’s electricity consumption, helping the homeowner substantially reduce their dependence on the utility grid. Although it doesn’t meet 100% of the home’s energy demand, the solution provides meaningful long-term utility savings and a more sustainable energy lifestyle.
Additionally, the built-in EV charger allows the resident to power their electric vehicle using clean, solar-generated electricity—enhancing both environmental impact and energy independence.

Environmental Benefits
By offsetting an estimated 5.5 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, the system contributes significantly to the homeowner’s personal sustainability goals. This clean energy solution also plays a small but meaningful role in reducing the community’s overall carbon footprint.

Financial Return
Aside from energy savings, the solar installation is expected to boost the property’s value by 3–4%, aligning with growing buyer interest in energy-efficient homes. It stands as a long-term investment that merges financial return with environmental responsibility.
